Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
For the third year, Mudbug Media supported the fight against breast cancer by participating in the 2011 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. It was a beautiful day at New Orleans’ City Park, as around 15,000 participants gathered for the 5k event. The race was a success and our team was proud to help raise money for this important cause.
NO/AIDS Walk
This years NO/AIDS Walk was held on a sunny Sunday, as walkers strolled through Uptown New Orleans and Audubon Park. Funds raised by the walk are slated to provide assistance to individuals living with HIV/AIDS throughout Louisiana. This event can be noted for its overwhelming air of camaraderie, enthusiasm, and hope.
St. Michael's Bead Donation
Post-parade, your Mardi Gras beads don't have to go to waste. To help support the Joy Center at St. Michael's Special School, we collected our unneeded throws for resale by the school's fundraising team. If you would like to donate your old beads for a better future, contact the school at 524-7285 during school hours.
Newman Internship Program
This year, we sponsored two senior interns from the Isidore Newman School. Over a two week period, the interns created a strategy and design presentation for one of our new business clients. We enjoyed the opportunity to work with Peter and Jennifer, and wish them the best of luck in college!
Louisiana Children's Museum
Located in New Orleans' business district, the Louisiana Children's Museum provides fun and educational programs and exhibits for its visitors. In support of this important local institution, we provided design and development services for the new museum website.
Kicking for Kids
On May 15, 2011, Mudbug Media competed in the Kicking for Kids fundraiser, benefiting New Orleans’ Jewish Community Center. Although we didn’t take home the trophy, we had so much fun playing for a great cause. The tournament benefited the JCC’s kids’ summer programs. It’s going to be a great summer at the JCC.
Strawberry Lemonade
Each year, the local non-profit Café Reconcile runs the ever-popular strawberry lemonade stand at Jazz Fest. To encourage sales, we provided design and social media efforts to promote the booth. Also, a team of dedicated Mudbugs rolled-up sleeves and helped serve the delicious drink.

French Quarter Fest
A free, four-day food and music festival, French Quarter Fest takes place along the Mississippi River and Jackson Square each April. Amongst the 17 outdoor stages, music of numerous genres (jazz, zydeco, gospel…) can be found. In support of the free festival and the FQ Foundation, we volunteered to serve in the beverage tent this year.
Soul Revival
Benefiting the Legacy Donor Foundation, Soul Revival is an annual fundraising gala supporting the cause of organ and tissue donation. In addition to attending the wonderful event, Mudbug Media created the website for ticket sales and promotion.
Save Our Cemeteries
We turned Martin Luther King Day 2011 into a day of service, volunteering with Save Our Cemeteries to help clean up Lafayette Cemetery No. 1. Our team pulled weeds, raked leaves, and trimmed branches on the cemetery's numerous oak trees.
